Following the success of the ‘Banned’ Jordan 1, Nike’s design team started to focus on basketball shoes, and in 1985 the Nike Dunk was introduced. In addition to colour schemes similar to AJ1 models, it has also appeared in many unique colourways including the ‘Be True To Your School’ pack which came in the colours of prestigious universities. While the Dunk remained a popular shoe on both basketball courts and the streets, the true renaissance was brought by the skateboard culture in the early 2000s. Ideal for skateboarding, the rugged Dunk SB has also been part of a number of collaborations, in 2020 the trend of this sneaker really picked up.
