The Jordan IV was released in 1989 and was also designed by Tinker Hatfield. The visible Air cushioning and mid-top height remained from the III, but compared to its robust look, the overall design became lighter. The iconic mesh panels and distinctive straps that assist with varied lacing appeared. On the Jordan 4 sneaker OG colorways, the large heel panels were decorated with the Nike Air logo, which was replaced with the Jordan logo on later retro models. The Four is memorable not only because it was Michael Jordan’s most successful season but also for the "stepping on" scene in the film Do The Right Thing.
