Grails of True to Sole: KAWS Jordan 4

If you haven't read our previous article about Brian Donelly aka Kaws , here's a brief introduction: the famous American designer studied as an illustrator at an art university, started working as an animator and also worked on films at Disney - hence the "cartoonish" nature of his style.

But his style was also shaped by the "street": in New Jersey he also found a home in the world of skateboarding and graffiti, transforming advertising posters as a guerilla artist.

The first toy figure was made in 1999 by the Japanese brand Bounty Hunter, and after that things started to accelerate around him! Countless collaborations are linked to his name, a small taste of the brands: Bathing Ape, Medicom Toy, Undefeated, Supreme, Dior, Comme des Garçons, Uniqlo... and of course Nike!

The KAWS x Jordan 4

As soon as you see this sneaker, your first impression is that you would like to run over the fine, soft gray split leather, which has been ruffled mainly on the lower part of the tongue and on the side of the shoe.

On the other panels of the upper part, in the darker colored leather, you can see the KAWS marks (the figure's hands and characteristically X-shaped eyes).

On the heel, the usual Jumpman logo has been replaced by the KAWS XX symbol in a slightly darker shade than the sneaker's base color.

The side sole is different from most sneakers because it has been covered with a gray plush effect that is exactly the same color as the upper part.

The transparent icy sole, slightly greenish-gray shade of the outsole fits perfectly with the shoes, and the details of the KAWS figure also show through.

The sneaker dropped worldwide in March 2017 as part of a collection that included a t-shirt, hoodie, jacket and hat. These things were all black, and the iconic XX got a red color.
