The Jordan IV was released in 1989 and was also designed by Tinker Hatfield. The visible Air insert and the medium stem height remained from the III, but compared to its robust appearance, the overall effect became lighter. The iconic mesh panels and distinctive, versatile lacing assist straps have appeared. On the OG colorways of the Jordan 4 sneaker, the huge panels of the heel part were decorated with the Nike Air inscription, on the later retro models this was replaced with the Jordan inscription. The Four can be remembered not only because of Michael Jordan's most successful season, but also because of the "step on" scene in the movie Do The Right Thing.
