Bearbrick figures are made by Medicom Toy of Japan. The first Bearbrick series was released in 2001 and since then new series have been added every six months, each with unique designs and collaborations. Their concept behind the series is to create collectible little works of art that straddle the boundaries between pop culture and contemporary art, where the thrill of surprise is always present.
